Emerging from the Melbourne Metal underground, Progressive Sludge-Metal force Bentham's Head are bringing their debut release, full-length "Blood, Salt and Ash", to the fore on September 20th, 2024.

A monumental offering that transcends the boundaries of metal sub-genres and offers a new path for metal across is seven commanding tracks. Each track is a distinct journey, deftly retelling the story of a narrative, with a common theme of struggle against the odds, on the frontiers of civilisation.

Artist Bio

Bentham’s Head are a five-piece metal band from Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. Described as atmospheric and blackened Post-Metal, Bentham’s Head weave powerful, narrative driven journeys through their massive sound.

Strong riffs and intricate leads carry tracks on their unexpected trajectories, traversing elements of Black, Doom and Post Metal, only to drop the listener into swirling ambience and quiet. This dichotomy is used impressively to create crushing crescendos and engage the listener on every track.

As if The Ocean Collective infused their progressive song structures with the love child of early Mastodon and the blackened sludge of Conjurer, Bentham’s Head take raw, brutally heavy, but accessible elements from unlikely places and create a fresh and engaging sound, sure to leave you wanting more.
